Dr. Ashwin Gupta is the Section Chief of Hospital Medicine at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System and an Associate Professor in the Division of Hospital Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School. His recent research focuses on understanding the prevalence of diagnostic error in the hospital, its impact on hospitalized patients, and designing interventions aimed at improving the diagnostic process. He is active in the Michigan Hospital Medicine Safety Consortium, where he studies hospital misdiagnosis of infections.
