HMS presented at the 2025 Annual Sepsis Alliance Summit.

Our HMS Collaborative Wide meeting took place on July 16th at Frederik Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids. This meeting aimed to maintain our focus on health system-level collaboration while also offering opportunities for interactive learning and peer exchange.

This month, we received extra funding to create guidelines for the appropriate use of vascular devices in critically ill patients.

Our latest HMS Collaborative-wide meeting occurred on November 6, 2024, at the UM-Flint Riverfront Conference Center in Flint, Michigan.

On September 17, 2024, HMS Sepsis Quality & Patient Safety Program Manager and Sepsis Alliance advisor, Pat Posa, RN, BSN, MSA, CCRN, FAAN, and many sepsis advocates, participated in Sepsis Alliance Day on the Hill 2024.

On August 24, 2023, the CDC unveiled the Hospital Sepsis Program Core Elements, developed in collaboration with HMS.

Our recent HMS July Collaborative Wide meeting occurred on July 23rd at Frederik Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids.

We conducted a cost-effectiveness analysis on the Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) initiative, aiming to enhance the appropriate utilization of PICCs.

Using our HMS Sepsis data, we developed a mortality model to track and benchmark mortality over time across the Collaborative.

HMS held its March 2024 Collaborative Wide Meeting virtually on March 12, 2024.

HMS’s sepsis work has led to a strong partnership with Sepsis Alliance.

On November 16, 2023, HMS announced the launch of the Sepsis Initiative Toolkit via a webinar for all HMS hospitals.

HMS held its first co-sponsored Collaborative Wide Meeting with the Michigan Emergency Department Improvement Collaborative (MEDIC) on November 1, 2023.
